Dinner Klub Sunday Lunch & Walk

Date: Sunday 15th April 2007
Time: 1pm
Location: Dundry Inn
Church Road, Dundry BS41 8LH
Cost: Free

This was a Dinner Klub event (see Klubs page), with about 20 people enjoying Sunday lunch at a village pub followed by a country walk.

The Dundry Inn is directly opposite St. Michael's Church at the heart of the pretty village of Dundry which is situated at the top of Dundry Hill close to the A38, 5 miles south west of Bristol.

Plan of action
1pm Meet at Dundry Inn (There will be a Dinner Klub sign up)
1.15pm Carvery lunch (£4.95 or £6.95 options)
2.15 - 2.30pm Start the walk (grid ref for serious navigators: 557 668)
5.30pm (latest) Arrive back at Dundry Inn

The walk is around 3½ miles, taking in The Monarch's Way and the outskirts of Winford, with lovely views over Chew Lake. This is not going to be a full-on "come on, keep up!" affair, but rather a pleasant stroll, although it does involve walking in fields, through gates where animals will have gathered and crossing stiles. Therefore, it is likely to be muddy, so you're advised to wear trousers which won't matter if they get dirty and stout footwear.

Some feedback from the event:

"A short email to thank you for organising the Dundry walk yesterday. The weather was wonderful, the walk was superbly scenic and the company was lovely. Thank you all. I look forward to the cycling event on May 5th."

"I very much enjoyed the Dundry walk."
